Septic Compass is a free service that connects homeowners with licensed local septic companies. We are not a contractor and do not perform septic work.
Aerobic and alternative systems — aerobic treatment units, mound systems, and engineered designs — are used where soil or space will not support a conventional drain field. They treat effluent more thoroughly but need more upkeep, including regular servicing of the aerator and, in many states, a service contract required by the permit.
